And when men in masks come hither
to court and woo a fair young maiden
I plea to thee with caution
guard yourself with utmost care.
For men are known to weave lies,
to sing words and promises
which only disillusions the mind
yet is never meant to be taken seriously.
So fear for your heart,
a tender and emotional treasure,
and let not yourselves be ovecome
with false hopes and false dreams.
Men do say they art one thing,
but in reality mean the other
for most end up being that
which they abhor the most.
In caution, I do warn thee
to be wary of their actions.
Do not be swayed by talks of love,
nor should you be taken in
by their smiles and laughter.
For a young maiden's heart
remains innocent and naive
and much in romantic love,
only once.
